The Digital Door Eye
The optical peephole on a door is useful, if you’ve got perfect eye sight or have your glasses on when someone calls but it really has seen better days.
In today’s digital world, it only makes sense to upgrade it with a fittingly advanced solution.
The Digital Door Eye saves you from having to stick your eye in a small hole, showing you who’s at the door in a clear, easy-to-view LCD.
Effectively a security camera and recorder in your doorstep, the contraption installs almost exactally as a traditional peephole but instead of squinting at the small, barely-visible view of the guy knocking at the door, you get to enjoy a 2.5-inch motion image in full color.
The LCD display mounts at the inner side of the door, housed in a light enclosure.
Simply push the view button to turn on the device, automatically showing you who’s standing by the doorway.
There is also a large capacity motion activated record function which will automatically record video of anyone who approches your door. The unit even has an easy to get at SD card slot to save video, a video-out connection and a fire wire USB slot for direct download.
The unit compensates for low-light situations, allowing you to get a clear display even in the dark.
