CCTV from Veritec Systems

How effective is CCTV

Statistics point to major reductions in the amount of crime being committed where there are cameras installed and CCTV is seen by many as the best system for deterrent and detection.

We are sure that you would wish to avoid having to catch those who are perpetrating crime against your organisation. Generally, once a Camera system is installed, it will only be fools who attempt to perpetrate offences within its field of view. These are often caught but for the majority it will provide a very high level of deterrence.

What HD means and why we don't use full HD

HD stands for "high definition" however there are different standards of HD. High definition for CCTV is usually 720p and not the usual 1080p you might expect from a DVD.

This is because a single coax cable can only handle 700TVL with current technology. Full HD 1080p is possible but 2 coax cables must be used for each camera and the overall system is a lot more expensive than the 720p we provide as standard.

It is also possible to achieve HD with I.P. cameras but we've found that these are highly problematic for the quality of networking and remote viewing.

In short we've found full HD excellent for a stand alone site but not up to standard when it comes to tranmission given the current state of broadband in Ireland. We're keeping an eye on it!

CCTV upgrade
CCTV upgrade

If you already have a CCTV system in place but would like to upgrade to the advanced features you've seen in our DVR's here's a few thing you should know:

It's cheap!

If you install a new 720p DVR along side your existing old cameras you might be in for a bit of a surprise when you see the quality. Older DVR's most likely were never recording the full quality of the cameras you had installed. A new 720p DVR will record every line in your old cameras often providing you with much better quality pictures using the same old cameras and all at a very low cost!

Our DVR's can all controll PTZ cameras even with a mobile phone so if you have PTZ's in place don't worry they'll get an upgrade too!

If you'd like to upgrade a large system but want to do it in stages you'll need a new DVR first. Old DVR's won't be able to handle our 700 TVL cameras.

We don't charge for camera instalation if you've already got wiring in place.
